Lens Love: 35mm

Today is the third post in a series about our lenses and what we love about them! If you missed our full gear post, you can find that here.

Here are the older posts in this series:
OUR FIRST LOVE-50mm
WE’RE GETTING CLOSER- 105mm

And now on with the new lens loving!!

LET’S GET THE WHOLE STORY!

For several years we shot weddings and sessions flawlessly with just the first two lenses we owned (50mm and 105mm). But the more we were inside for weddings, the harder BIG GROUP shots became to pull off with the 50mm. Before long I realized that I needed a lens that gave me a wider view. So I purchased the Nikon 35mm 1.4G. This lens is such a great tool for our wedding line-up. This lens works great in those small getting ready spaces, for BIG wedding party or family portraits as well as for fun dance floor shots during the reception! I ended up finding uses for it so often during the wedding day that i can’t imagine NOT having it anymore! This lens is a little more on the expensive side as well but it has earned it’s value for us!  It is tack sharp and can get you the shot in tight spots!

Here are a few samples of this lens in action!
