Hi friends! I have such a beautiful wedding to share here today! I knew from Elisabeth and Nick’s awesome engagement session that they were easy going. I mean who accidentally hikes 5 mils to a waterfall that doesn’t really exist and is still all smiles for photos? But their wedding day put them in a whole new category of awesome! Their outdoor wedding was covered in a rainy gloomy day. Luckily it was just a fine mist for most of the day and we just proceeded as normal. Elisabeth and Nick never once got upset about the weather, never complained about the change of plans and even stood in the pouring rain for GORGEOUS portraits. It was literally pouring on us during part of them and they just took it all in stride. Despite the gloomy weather, they were still all smiles and just happy to be marrying each other. You could see their love just ooze from them when they are together. Their bridal party was equally as awesome and stood in the rain for shots too. Thank you to each of you for just going with the day despite the weather!
One thing that helped ease a lot of the tension and gave us a huge advantage on the day was that they shared a first look. I am huge advocate for first looks! And since they did this, we were able to knock out all their portraits BEFORE the wedding and it allowed us to work around the radar as much as possible for the best rain forecast. And speaking of their first look, Nick had the sweetest reaction! You could literally see how stunning he thought she looked. It is a moment I will never forget! And even though they had already shared that moment, Nick still teared up as his bride walked down the isle for their ceremony!
These two are just the sweetest together. The way he looks at her, the way she cocks her head back and laughs so deeply and comfortably with him. They were truly meant for one another. Nick and Elisabeth, we wish you a lifetime of happiness. As long as you take the same approach to life together as you did to your wedding day, you are going be happy forever. Congrats!
And there first look…so sweet! I couldn’t narrow it down so you get a lot of photos!
And when it rains, you use the only covered area for some quick portraits!

[…] “I was really skeptical about doing a first look, because everyone says you’re not supposed to see each other. We chose to do a first look to shorten the time between the ceremony and the reception for our guests. We are both so glad we did, and not just because it provided a quick turnaround. It was such a special moment between us, and it shook some of the nerves. Doing a first look did not take away from walking down the aisle, and Nick teared up both times!” Elisabeth & Nick […]
