I love when we photograph weddings for a family we have worked with in the past! We shot Kelly’s brother Ryan’s wedding last fall. So we already knew half of the people at this wedding! It was like a reunion! After chatting with Maggie and Kelly a few months back about their wedding day, I simply couldn’t wait for it! I think the biggest perk to my job (besides the sweet couples we work with!) is that no two weddings are ever the same. And Maggie and Kelly had a very unique wedding planned! Their downtown Greensboro wedding was simple yet elegant. These two tied the knot at the studio at CTG. Guests were seated at the tables to watch the ceremony and it made for a cozy feel. And speaking of the tables, I adored them lined with magnolia leaves and the glow from candles and lights. Maggie’s engagement ring was a sapphire so they used the color throughout the day as well. I love seeing the blues mixed in all day long! They chose to have a small wedding party of just their siblings so the entire day felt so intimate. Their wedding was so classy yet full of spunk! I think my favorite part of the entire day was their glow stick send off! As we lined the streets in the chilly night air, these two were all smiles running amongst the neon glow! It was such a perfect ending to their day!
I can’t blog their wedding without mentioning a few things about Maggie and Kelly as well! Maggie was probably the most chill bride. In fact, Kelly coordinated a lot of the wedding details which was opposite of our typical couple. He truly wanted to take care of things for her so she wouldn’t have to worry over them. You could really see how much he wanted to make her life full of joy. Maggie may have been relaxed that day, but she was full of emotion! Their first look was the sweetest. The tears were welling up in her eyes before we even got in sight of Kelly. The funny thing about Maggie is that the moment the sweet tears would start, they were almost ALWAYS followed by her giggle. After the tears of their first look she told me she probably wouldn’t cry now during the ceremony, but I knew she would! A lot of people think having a first look takes away the emotion of the ceremony, but really it is still there because it hits you that you are marrying the love of your life! I wasn’t surprised one bit when she teared up during their ceremony! It was such a sweet day!
Thank you Kelly and Maggie for allowing us to capture your day! We loved every minute of it! Enjoy a few peeks at your wedding day!
