During the reception, Julee’s father and I had a chat about children and marriage. Julee is one of SIX kids. So her childhood was a lot like my current household feels. Her father passed along some words of wisdom to me on his daughter’s wedding day. He said “It goes by so quickly. So just make the most of it while you can. One day you realize that your job is done and all you wish for is that they would find happiness.” Well, I think Julee found her happiness in Wilson. Each couple we meet and serve is completely different. Even though we are only a part of their story for a short time, I feel like we get this peek into their lives that no one else does. I get to be a part of the excitement when they are freshly engaged and inquiring. I get to be a part of their engagement photos and chat about their wedding plans. I get to see the posts on social media when they pick up their wedding gown or their marriage license arrives in the mail. And I get to be there through each small moment of their wedding day- from the stressful moments to the cherished and sweet ones. We share in the whole process. And through those moments we spend with them, we see the way they love one another. The thing I was most impressed with about Julee and Wilson’s relationship is the way they speak softly and kindly to each other. Even during a stressful time crunch, they addressed each other so sweetly. Their wedding day was truly one of joy and celebration. I have no doubt that they will have many years of happiness together!
Julee and Wilson were married at the gorgeous Trinity United Methodist Church in Petersburg, Virginia. This church was simply stunning! Their emotional ceremony filled with happy tears and lots of smiles, was followed by a reception at the Petersburg Train Station. Both places were full of such great architecture and history! We enjoyed walking along the cobblestone streets and capturing their wedding day! Here are some favorites!
Thank you Julee and Wilson for allowing us to capture your wedding! We had a great time!
