The wind howled. The rain fell from all directions. The skies were gloomy. But inside the walls of the Harvest House, we found nothing but sunshine. Hurricane Matthew might have sent us some less than ideal weather, but these two just embraced it so well. Most brides would have been a mess worried over the weather on their wedding day. But Christy just smiled through it. Instead of focusing on something they couldn’t control, they just focused on what was most important- the beginning of their life as husband and wife.

“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!”

 

This is the verse that kept circling through my mind during their wedding. Not once did anyone mention the weather. All the focus was on the joining of these two and what a beautiful celebration it was! I don’t think I could have imagined how beautifully a wedding in a hurricane would go. The entire staff at Harvest House and Catering dedicated themselves into making the day go flawlessly. Christy and Cody were surrounded by amazing loved ones to celebrate their day- rain or shine. And because of that, we forgot about the weather too. Christy and Cody, I will forever remember your wedding day and how two people took a storm and made it into something so beautiful. I can only believe that the same will hold true in your marriage! We wish you the best of luck from day 1 all the way to day 1,000,000 in marriage.

As we were waiting for their entrance into the reception, I noticed there was no rain for a brief moment…so I wished them outside for a quick few minutes of portraits!

Then it was off to the reception…
