I love the new year so much! A great time to set new goals, look back on the year past and really see what you accomplished and what you need to give more loving to. It is something I look forward to every year. As I sat down to make this post, I started to feel like maybe my year wasn’t that great. ha! You see, I was less busy this year than ever before. I took on less shoots. We traveled less (kind of). So the fact that I didn’t have these long list of great things to share like we have in the past (international weddings, conferences, contest wins, etc) made me feel like I was falling short. But truthfully, I lived life simpler this year which was one of my main goals for the entire year! SO really that is a WIN. When I started 2018, I made the goal to shoot more of what I love and to eliminate things that didn’t bring me joy. And I did that. Everything I shot this year was just so lovely! And also, I didn’t enter contests or go to conferences this year because I didn’t feel like I needed to. I never want to spend time or money doing something unless I gain more from it. I am comfortable where I am right now in my work. And I couldn’t be happier with all the things we did accomplish in 2018. So here is a short peek into what the year brought-
1. Being Published in Southern Bride Magazine.
Hands down my favorite. Seeing your work in print never gets old. And this shoot was full of ME and all the things I love!
Our work was also featured on Palmetto State Weddings | High Country Wedding | Artfully Wed | Every Last Detail | Elizabeth Anne Designs | Palmetto State Weddings again | Mountainside Bride | Burnett’s Boards | Knotsvilla |
2. All the Charleston sessions-
I know I say it all the time, but I would shoot in Charleston every day if I could and never grow tired of it. We were blessed to do so many sessions there this year!
Emily & Kenneth | Madison & Josh
Arlene & Andrew | Lindsey & Chad
Amelia & Andrew | Teresa & Travis
Erin & Ryan | My Kiddos
3. And even some Charleston Weddings-
4. Teaming up with some incredible vendors on editorial projects.
This is one of my very favorite things I did this year. It allowed me to meet so many amazing vendors, work with them first hand and photograph some stunning projects. From wedding planners, florists, dress designers, cake bakers, and more. I made so many connections and friends!

5. Putting some love into our home.
At times I felt like a dog chasing squirrels we jumped around so much in our remodel, but I love the way our home is starting to come together after YEARS of renovating! Our biggest projects we tackled this year is opening up the walls in our living/dining/kitchen areas to make it all flow together. Hopefully next year we will finally FINISH our kitchen remodel we have been working on for 3 years. OOPS!
