Sometimes I am so amazed at what a year can do. Or a few years in fact. I sat down to write out my thoughts on 2017, and I had to stop and really think about it. The last few years I completely revamped and changed my business. Like started over in a lot of ways. As I mentioned in my 2016 highlights post, when I started this business, I really didn’t have much of a plan for where it would go. But the last few years, I have seen just how much I can do and where God is leading me. It is incredible! But now that I have spent the last few years really making decisions with intention and planning carefully how to run this business, I have watched it completely change! And it is amazing. I am finally to a place where I feel like I should be. And the awesome news is that so much of the hard work is done. I mean, I have to keep the wheels turning, but I have spent so much time working on the organization and back end of the business that those systems are perfected! We have our workflow down to a science now. We have so many of our past struggles streamlined so that they never happen again! It is an amazing feeling! But at the same time, I want to push forward and grow even more. So I am trying to look back with fresh eyes this off season and really see what I can do differently to improve. As far as major changes, I wanted to share a few here today. This is what you can expect in 2017!

WEDDINGS!
We love weddings and it is for sure where my heart is! We will be taking a few more weddings this year than in the past (but still not too many since we have 5 kids!). If you have a friend or family member that is newly engaged, pass our name along! We would love to serve them on the most important day of their lives!

LIMITED PORTRAIT SESSIONS
I already limited my portrait sessions in 2016, but 2017 I will only be taking on a select few portraits. I would love to focus on Anniversary and Maternity session for those. I will not be doing newborns in 2017. Although I love newborns so much, the sessions have gotten harder for me to balance since I have them in my home. We are under-going some major renovations this year and to welcome people into our home during that phase is way too stressful for me. So I have decided to not do any this year.

BLOGGING!
I will continue blogging this year, especially all the beautiful weddings and sessions we have! Expect to still see those hit the blog quickly after they happen! However, since I have blogged so many tips posts the past 2 years, I am running out of ideas! So I will be scaling back my blogging to 3 days a week. I may hit 4-5 a week during the busier months, but I really want to make sure I am sharing good content, not just blogging to blog! If there is a blog topic you would like me to do…send me a note! 🙂

TRAVEL PLANS

We will be heading to Charleston SC again this year for sessions! I adore that city and love shooting there as well! We may be heading back to NYC again too! If you are interested in a session in either of those spots, email me ASAP!
