Oops! and a few shares…

The last few weeks, I have been swamped with shooting and just life.  It is a mixed blessing.  I love so much of what I do.  The shooting side of this career is really just a SMALL portion of it.  There is so much behind the scenes that no one ever sees- the editing, blogging, updating websites, logging expenses, washing props, emailing, designing albums, burning disk, uploading orderes, shipping packages, etc.  Those things take so much time and when I shoot a lot at once, the backend of things get CRAZY!  The past few months have pretty much remained that way.  I have changed up a bit of my shooting and sharing here and it has made my editing and blogging process take even longer.  But I decided that I wanted to share MORE with people and it has been a great business move.  Instead of simply popping my favorite 5-10 images on the blog, I share A LOT of the session and people get a great idea of what they can expect if they hire me.  :)  I hope you guys have enjoyed the extra shares too!  :)

Of course amongst this crazy busy season, I had a family vacation planned.  Truth be told, I didn't want to go.  I was swamped with work, editing until 3 or 4am every night just trying to stay afloat and this vacation creeping up filled me with dread.  Leaving my HUGE to-do list behind for a week wasn't something I was ready to do.  But I needed a vacation and my kids deserve some mommy time, so we packed up and headed out.  Little did we know that God had something else planned.  Our week long vacation got cut into a weekend getaway with our LONG vacation pushed a few weeks ahead.  Although the stress of that weekend took a huge toll on us, I left the beach EXCITED that I had a free week ahead to edit with no obligations!  So the last few days, I have been locked in my studio, getting galleries up, albums designed and knocking out my list!  It is a HUGE blessing!  Seems funny to be excited about a cancelled vacation, but I am!  Before we left though, I did have a few more sessions sneek in there.  Here are peeks for them since they are a ways down my editing list!  :)
