The last few weeks I have done a LOT of engagement sessions and I have quite a few more coming up very soon! They are quickly becoming some of my favorite sessions! Today I am sharing my top 10 tips to help you prepare for your engagement session and get some GREAT photos!
1. Plan for atleast two outfits…you are welcome to do 3!
2. You can’t be too dressy! I love when people deck out in cocktail dresses and heels, suits or vests for guys. Don’t forget the accessories!
3. Pick a color scheme. pick 2-3 colors and go with outfits within those colors (ex. black, white, coral)
4. When in doubt do neutrals and then pop in colors with an accent such as a statement necklace or fun shoes! Guys don’t forget the belt and watches!
5. Go with a plaid and coordinating solid. This is a good system for casual country outfits. Avoid small patterns though!
6. Visit rent the runway for a cheap option for a dressy outfit!
7. Get your hair/makeup professionally done. Who doesn’t feel like a million bucks after a visit to the salon? Make a day of it, pamper yourself and you will feel BEAUTIFUL and it will show in your photos!
8. Also, CLEAN YOUR RING! We will do some shots of it!
9. Tulle skirts (and floral crowns!) are ALWAYS a good idea!
