“Your week started with an ending and ended with a beginning.”
Those words perfectly summed up this past week of Erin’s life. Her grandfather passed away at the beginning of the week. A person she had known her entire life and dearly loved she had to say goodbye to. But much like the circle of life, Erin started a new beginning of her life as well. On Saturday she married the man that she dreamed of her entire life. And together they started their new beginning as husband and wife.
We started the wedding day with a cloudy skies, constant drizzle and no sun to be seen. I couldn’t help but think the rain was tears from heaven as her grandfather watched the day unfold. The weather didn’t stop Erin or Dustin from celebrating their marriage. They both embraced it and turned their outdoor ceremony into an semi-outdoor one. Luckily, these two had a country wedding and their boots could withstand any muddy ground we passed through. The rain turned to a slight mist as Erin and Dustin shared their first look. And minutes later, it became a downpour as we shot bridal party portraits! Luckily we used a darling little farm next to the wedding site and snuck the wedding party under a barn shed. Rustic and weatherproof! (I however was not weather proof, so my AMAZING husband held an umbrella over me as I shot portraits for an hour or more! THANK YOU SO MUCH TRAVIS!!!) The entire wedding party was just amazing to work with and we couldn’t appreciate them more! Everyone was happy to brave the rain and make the most of the wedding day!
After the ceremony, the rain lifted and we took FULL advantage of it! We were able to do more beautiful bride and groom portraits that simply make my heart squeal! Whenever rain is in the forecast, I always pray hard that I can have just an hour of rain free skies to give each couple some beautiful portraits of the two of them. And GOD DELIVERED AGAIN! It was simply perfect!
Erin and Dustin, Thank you so much for trusting us to capture your wedding. It was truly an honor to watch you begin your life as husband and wife. The way you handled the weather and change of plans with such grace speaks volumes about you. I have no doubt that your marriage can withstand any storm life throws your way!
The ceremony and reception site was just beautiful!
Erin’s son gave her away. Such a sweet moment.
Then off for more portraits!
