Today I am sharing a bit about my favorite wedding venues and why I love them!! I have to start with my absolute favorite of course!!
Lowndes Grove
I don’t think words can properly describe how stunning Lowndes Grove is. It’s classic southern with the huge arched windows, large balcony porch, and did I mention it is also a waterfront property?!? It has a grand lawn that makes for a stunning ceremony spot as well as a huge outdoor space complete with clear tent top that can prevent the weather from ruining your day. I love that you can have so many beautiful spots right there for portraits, there is plenty of getting ready rooms with great light and there is so much history and charm in every bit of the house. This is a venue I would love to photograph at over and over!

The River House at Lowndes Grove
This beautiful venue is perfect for showcasing smaller occasions and still getting all that gorgeous Southern Charm of the Lowndes Grove Estate. We love the waterfront ceremony views along with the classic interior of the River House!
Gadsen House
The Gadsen House is a beautiful and must- see space! Located in the heart of Charleston, it provides a stunning courtyard for your ceremony or reception! The house has gorgeous natural light, a stunning bridal suite and nice big porches for entertaining! The inside is equally stunning with chandeliers, gorgeous mantles and a gorgeous staircase too!
SC Society Hall
Clay & Lauren | Autumn Hues Editorial
Society Hall stole my heart! The main ceremony space is neutral and can be molded to fit any wedding day color scheme. The downstairs spaces boast the proud Charleston Pastels and I couldn’t love them more! The staircase leading down the front of the building makes for a awesome spot for a first look. And did I mention that it is located within walking distance of the most photographed spots in Charleston including Rainbow Row?
Merchants Hall
Andy & Tamara | Mariam & Chris | Ebony & Kris
Merchants Hall is such a unique space! The first time I visited, I was blown away! The exposed brick walls mixed with the stunning glass chandeliers makes the space swoon worthy! It is located right beside the Market on one of the most popular streets in the entire city! It is a must see!!
Historic Rice Mill
The Historic Rice Mill is located on the waterfront minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The dockside ceremony is truly one of a kind. I love the brick walls, the huge bar/dance floor area and the fact that this venue gives you amazing sunset views over the water.
Runnymede Plantation:
Molly & Jordy | Hannah & Alex | Abby & TJ
When I first saw this venue, my jaw hit the floor. The mossy trees, the gorgeous brick ruins. So much gorgeous southern charm in this place! And that permanent tent area for receptions makes a gorgeous backdrop too! We would love to shoot there again and again!
River Oaks-
This waterfront home makes a stunning backdrop for an intimate ceremony!
Creek Club at Ion
This venue began it all for us in Charleston. Our first Charleston wedding was captured at this stunning venue. It has gorgeous waterfront views, an equally gorgeous indoor reception place complete with a huge wrap around porch for cocktail hour!
Cedar Room
This gorgeous space is perfect for a larger crowd and the rooftop views can’t be beat for portraits! We also love the courtyard space for ceremonies!
Magnolia Plantation
Magnolia stole my heart with their mossy trees. If you are looking to feature spanish moss on your wedding day then Magnolia is the place for you! Their are so many beautiful spots for your portraits as husband and wife! There is also plenty of space to entertain your guests! The peacocks that wander the property will give your guests something fun to marvel at too!
Other venues we love: Boone Hall Plantation, Middleton Place, Cannon Green, William Aiken House.
