You have heard the catch phrase I am sure. “Good things come to those who hustle” or “Every day I’m hustling!” Those are everywhere you turn. Every one seems to believe that if you just hustle hard enough and long enough, everything will fall into place.
I remember a few years back when my business started to grow. I was hustling. I was spending many late nights working into the wee hours editing when I should have been sleeping (because I had babies and sleep was a luxury). I was spending every moment I could choosing to chase this dream. I was hustling in every sense of the word. Emails, editing, shooting, blogging, client meetings…it was all taking over my life and I was drowning. And everyone would say…just hustle…it will all be worth it. And I was sitting there like “Am I not hustling?”
I am here to tell you something…the hustle is a lie. Not to say that you shouldn’t hustle…but just hustling won’t bring you success or growth. What I have learned is that you have to WORK SMARTER so you can HUSTLE LESS.
I spent so much time on tasks that could have been simplified. Like my editing and post session workflow. So if you are trying to reach your goal or working super hard at your job…stop and think…what am I really struggling with? What am I spending a lot of time on that I don’t really enjoy? And find ways to fix those issues so you can focus on things you really enjoy!
