One of the most frequent questions I get asked is what is the best time of day for a session (engagement, bridals, or portraits). I always tell people we shoot 2 hours before sunset because that is known as “the golden hour”. This is the time of the day when light is the dreamiest and also it is a bit cooler in the warmer months.
Now, as we all know, the sunset changes throughout the year and in certain parts of the year it sets super early! So how can you know when exactly we will need to schedule a session weeks or even months in advance?
With sunset calculator, I can easily pop in the location (city, state) and the month and it gives me the sunset time for each day that month! Viola! So I can easily estimate your session start time! I thought I would pass along this handy tool to my clients too!
And here are some glowy golden hour favorites…
