I have to preface this blog post by saying that Mary is one of the most calm and patient brides I have ever worked with.  My typical wedding day timeline allows us to capture most of the portraits (decorations, bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc) before the ceremony.  However, the day of Mary and Keith’s outdoor wedding, it was raining.  It was actually pouring for a while.  When I arrived at the venue, Mary informed me that she was going to wait it out.  She wanted her wedding outside.  So waited we did!  We just did a quick rearrange of the timeline and waited.  About 20 minutes before the wedding, the rain had slacked off to a sprinkle and Mary insisted that she was going to continue with her outdoor wedding.  The groomsmen got to work drying the chairs.  And magically, the rain disappeared and the sun came out.

I think this story of their wedding day is very symbolic of Mary and Keith’s relationship as well.  They have done the long distance dating thing.  They will do a long distance marriage for a short while, but no matter what life throws at them whether it be a storm or a few miles, they continue on with each other.  And for that reason, I am glad it rained on their wedding day, because they will forever remember how the rain magically stopped so they could enjoy their moment becoming husband and wife.

Mary was a STUNNING BRIDE!

With the timeline shift, we only had minutes for bridal party pictures, but we still squeezed them in!

And then we focused on the two of them.  The storms left them with an INCREDIBLE backdrop for portraits!
