We walked hand in hand over to the little patch of weeds where I have taken photos of hundreds of kids. The light softly filtered through the trees behind him and I backed up and pointed my camera at him. He looked up at me and said “Cheese!” Something I have never told him to do (I think he learned that at preschool). And as I looked at his sweet face through my camera I almost didn’t recognize this little kid before me. Somehow this baby of mine had turned into a little boy. He continued flashing his little smile at me with his two bottom teeth shining back and I snapped the shutter over and over. The moment was fleeting and he quickly found something else to look at other than his mom with a camera. But I will forver have these photos of my sweet Finn who is now a little boy. People always say he looks like me but I can’t help but see his daddy in that little face. Maybe because just like his daddy, they always brighten my day when they are around. Either way, he is pretty cute. Happy Birthday my sweet Finn (even though the big birthday was on Monday!). You are such a blessing in our lives!
