I am just going to warn you right now, this is going to be one HUGE blog post! From the moment I arrived at the Harvest House on Saturday, I knew it was going to be a wonderful day! Every corner I turned was filled with little vignettes and people working like busy bees preparing for Abby & Cody’s wedding. To say I was in photographer heaven would be putting it mildly! Abby and Cody put so much of themselves into their wedding day. And it made for a stunning event!
This wedding proves that rustic and elegant can exist together in the most wonderful way! When Abby told me her plans for a kentucky derby feel cocktail hour paired with a hunting lodge reception, I knew I was in for a treat! The wonderful people at Vintage Cottage brought in so many wonderful pieces to style Abby & Cody’s day! I kept finding antique trays and suitcases and dishes to pull for detail shots. In fact I shot about 4 different versions of each thing! In addition to the vintage pieces, Abby and Cody brought pieces of their past with them as well. Abby’s horse ribbons and trophies were sprinkled throughout the property. Taxidermy and antler sheds were worked into the barn. There was unqiue displays at every turn! Burge Flower shop also won my heart over with their stunning bouquets! It added such a beautiful pop to each bridesmaid’s unique dress and tied the mix and match feel together. The invitations were created from a watercolor painting the bride’s mother made. And the skies behind their ceremony almost matched that watercolor perfectly! God certainly painted a gorgeous sky for them that day! Abby entered the ceremony on her childhood horse Junior. It was a bittersweet moment as this day would be the last time she rode him.
Abby and Cody were surrounded by a lot of loved ones to celebrate their marriage! Their 22 person wedding party proved that they are well loved amongst friends and family! After getting to know them over the last year, I can see why. Cody and Abby are the kindest people. They truly care so much about others. On a day that was meant to focus on them, they kept shifting the focus on others. I have no doubt that they will love and care for each other in the same way! Abby and Cody, it was such a pleasure capturing your stunning wedding day!
