It was a late night, Travis and I had tucked the kids in bed and snuck downstairs for TV time together.  It is our favorite part of the day.  As we sat there watching our newest netflix obsession, we heard the cries through the baby monitor.  Travis rushed upstairs to comfort Finn (he’s the best hubby and daddy ever!) and I sat there waiting to finish our couch date. As the settling back down took longer than we expected,  I pulled out my phone to text him.  I started typing the words I can’t wait until they all sleep through the night on their own.  Then I erased it, because really, I CAN wait.  I know I will miss this.  So I typed… “One day we will miss these moments when they were young and woke up a million times a night, right?”  And he didn’t have to answer, because I already know I will.  These days of someone needing us at the most inconvenient time are LIFE happening.  These kiddos need us and it feels so great to be needed and loved.  So today, I urge you to stop when life throws an inconvenience and think, won’t I miss this one day?  A lot of times in the rush of life and the “want it done now” mentality we forget just how much this moment means, even if it interrupts plans.
