THE JOURNAL

Allison & Drew

He stood in the Charleston heat and humidity waiting to see her.  He fought off sweat and nerves while the anticipation built.  Finally, she tapped on his shoulder and he turned around to see the love of his life stunning as ever.  Drew’s face will forever be etched in my mind as he saw her for the first time.  From across the way, I could see him mouth “YOU LOOK AMAZING!” and she did. She glowed in every sense of the word.  Allison was a beautiful bride inside and out.  I have never had a more calm bride- at no point in their day from a little button mishap to sweating buckets during the heat of the day did she EVER let the smile leave her face.  They both handled the day with such grace and joy.  I think joy is the word I would use to describe the entire day.  As I was looking back over their photos and editing this very blog post, I kept finding myself smiling right along with Allison.  She looked happy at every single turn.  I could feel her JOY!

Getting married in the heat of summer isn’t for the faint of heart.  These two welcomed their guests (all from out of town) to the gorgeous Creek Club at I’on for their wedding day.  And while that waterfront breeze made the gorgeous blue and white blooms from Pretty Petals dance in the wind, it didn’t do much for that humidity.  But their loved ones didn’t mind one bit because it was a joy to share in this day with Allison and Drew.  A few moments I loved from their day was their love lock unity during the ceremony, followed by them throwing away the keys into the river after they locked them together!  Allison and Drew also had a live painter, Nicole Schmitz, which is always so fun to watch come to life!  They also treated their guests to an evening cool down from Oh So Gelato!  And Dream Day Charleston kept their dance floor moving the whole night!   It was a stunning day from start to finish and we are honored to have captured it all!
