Oh Friends! I have the best best best post to share today!! This is probably one of the most magical things I have ever photographed! And that list is pretty hard to get on to for me! This past weekend I photographed something that made my hopeless romantic soul go weak in the knees! So let me tell you all about it!

Katelyn got out of the car at the Christmas tree farm with a ball of nerves. She THOUGHT she was there to model for some Christmas photos. She confessed that she was worried she would be awkward and almost decided not to do them. But she did. I led her and Derek to the backside of the quiet little tree farm and started posing them. Little did she know that this photo session would change her life forever. She had no idea what was coming! So we began with some portraits of the two of them.

Until I moved them into the magical little spot I had picked out that was nestled on the far end of the farm, away from the parking lot, with no visible views around the isles. And I sent Travis to the car to get some “Christmas props” for us to use. So I kept on shooting in that little spot.

And then he returned with the ornament props, and we let them decorate the tree in front of them.

Until we handed Derek a VERY special ornament. Which he passed to her…

She looked at it closely, confused for the moment.

Until he told her to turn and look behind her only to find their closest friends and family…

And when she turned back around he was on one knee…

Then I think it finally hit her. He had planned all of this just for her.

And finally she said yes and the family rushed over with hugs of congratulations as she teared up with happiness!

We did a few more shots of them with the ring…

And in that moment it FINALLY sunk in. She was engaged!!! And she stopped in her tracks and threw her arms around the man she loved.

Katelyn and Derek, I am so honored that we were apart of this magical moment! I am thankful that we pulled it off beautifully! I can’t even begin to describe the ball of nerves I had that day. I am sure my CONSTANT talking about a million subjects in those 25 minutes we were shooting probably make more sense now! I couldn’t be more happy to have witnessed and documented this amazing moment in your lives! Thank you for letting us be a part of it!
