They stopped in the middle of their ceremony. Both of them pulled off their shoes. They began their union of marriage with a foot washing ceremony. And even though we have photographed this before, it still touched my heart. While many people chose to celebrate their marriage union by lighting a candle or tying ropes, these two decided to start their marriage serving each other. And really, I can tell you that marriage is all about serving each other. Putting the other’s needs in front of your own. Doing for them what they could do for themselves, but gifting that service with love. It is a beautiful sentiment and a wonderful start to marriage. And if that sweet sentiment wasn’t enough to show how deeply these two were committed to each other, their vows surely were. After reciting traditional vows, they each read their own filled with promises to serve and love God together, respect each other always and to love until death they do part. Tears and smiles were equally shared by many.
You would think that shooting two weddings back to back would lose it’s sparkle, but truthfully, the weddings we had this weekend couldn’t be more different! And that is what I love so very much about this job. Each wedding is so unique, no matter how many times we shoot at a venue or same color scheme, each couple puts their own touches on the day! One thing all the weddings I have shot have in common are the AMAZING people in them! We are truly best with the best clients!
I think Jenn has to be one of the most relaxed bride’s around. Steven is in the military and a change with his work had them bump up their planned August wedding to April. Jenn just rolled with it. With only weeks to finish what she thought she had months to plan, she stayed calm. I knew this wedding was going to be a treat after working with them both at their engagement session. They are both so laid back and kind hearted. And the way Steven looks at Jenn will just melt your heart! It was such a beautiful day for the beginning of their lives together!
A special thanks to the wonderful vendors that made their special day!
