Division of Wedding Day

My husband Travis and I shoot every single wedding day together. We always have and we always will. WHY? Because we believe that two shooters are better than one. That your day deserves to be captured in more than one angle and that we each bring different strengths to the table.

So, how do we divide out our tasks on the wedding day? We tag team the entire day. I know it is a bit against the grain for most photo teams- most people divide up for the pre-ceremony to save time, but have found over the years that our system really provides the best service to our couples! SO here is a peek into our division of labor during your BIG day!
PRE-CEREMONY-

Candi- Styles bridal details
Travis- finds a spot to hang the dress, sets up ring shots
Together- capture both bride and groom getting ready with Candi focusing on wide shots and Travis on more close up.

Candi- stands at the front of the ceremony to capture the bridal party coming down the isle at the beginning, steps behind the bridal party after the bride enters and captures a few portraits from behind then during the first prayer or song I move to the other side and again to the back of the ceremony for the exit.

Travis- stands at the back of the ceremony to get the dad and bride walking down the isle and the groom’s reaction. Moves to sides to capture different angles as well. Follows Bride and Groom out for after ceremony greeting and hugs

RECEPTION-

Travis- sets up our OCF lights and moves them as needed

Love this post- it is so fun to see how others split up the photographing (and beautiful images too!)!

  2. Amber says:

Neat perspective on the way you work! We’re a husband-wife photography team and we work in a similar fashion. 🙂 We can split up if time requires it, but we love the interaction and experience we can provide when everyone gets both of our complete focus. Great post!
