One of the most stressful parts of the wedding day for the bride and groom as well as the photographer is family formals! Our goal is to simplify the process for you so that we can roll through these photographs quickly and painlessly! We know how important these photos are for your wedding day, but also want to capture them in a way that allows you to enjoy visiting with ALL your friends and family instead of taking hours of photos with each person! So here are three tips we suggest to help this part of the day go smoothly!
1. Tell your family in advance what the plan is. We send out your wedding day timeline a few weeks in advance. You can help this process go super quickly if you tell all your family that is needed for the photos the time and place to be.
2. Pick someone to help coordinate the people. If you have a wedding planner or coordinator, this would be a great task for them. We help you draft up the photo arrangements in advance so we can simply roll through them. Having someone to round up the people that will be in the NEXT photo is key to keeping things rolling smoothly.
3. Limit the poses! We have developed a system over the years that allows us to capture all the family you love in a photo but not have to have a million combinations of photos. We send you our initial list and have you add in any arrangements you would like. However, please keep in mind you add 3-5 minutes for EACH grouping of people. More poses = less reception time!
