I have always heard people say that if you hand over your dreams to God, he will give them back to you bigger and better than you have ever imagined. And I have to say I have witnessed this first hand recently.
Back last spring, I found this beautiful dress that I was dying to photograph. I told Travis that I could just imagine it on the streets of Charleston. I had this clear vision in my head of what the shoot would look like. But I put it on the back burner. Then one day while scrolling instagram, I came across a sweet fashion blogger that I thought could ROCK that dress. So I reached out to her and she was thrilled to do the shoot for me. SO when we visited Charleston in July, I made a few connections with other vendors and I reached out to see if they wanted to turn this shoot into something fun. Before I knew it I had models, florals, a cake, and some beautiful invitations. But I still needed so many other things to really pull it together. So I started reaching out to planners and no one came through. And I almost gave up. As I was driving home from an engagement session, I was thinking about the shoot and feeling so frustrated. I really wanted to see it come to life, but I didn’t want the stress of it anymore. So I prayed. I decided to lay it down and let it go. The very next day, I had a planner contact me about teaming up. She was a GOD SEND for sure. She jumped right in, tied up all the loose ends and transformed this simple little shoot into one of the most amazing things I have ever photographed. I remember a few weeks into it, I told Travis how much the shoot had grown. Cayleigh had literally made every thing on my wish list come true and added a bunch more. I had to pinch myself because it just didn’t feel real. I reached out to some dream vendors too and everyone of them just jumped on board. It was amazing and exciting!
The first little shoot I had designed in my head got thrown out completely. We turned it into a DREAM shoot and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. If I had a wedding, it would pretty much be just like this shoot. I could feel so much of myself in every little piece of the day. I am so incredibly excited to share it with you guys today!
