Maternity Session Styling tips

I simply adore maternity session!  There is just something about them that draws me in!  I love incorporating beautiful nature filled locations with a beautiful mama to be!  It just makes sense!  Locations seem to be one of the easier parts of a maternity session, but the hard question is usually…WHAT DO I WEAR?

If you include your spouse or children, it can be difficult to pick out what they should wear!  Today’s blog post is all about that very topic!!

TIPS FOR THE MAMA TO BE:

*Go Neutral!  We love mamas in soft tones!  Especially in nature!

*Bring accessories!    This is your time to feel pretty!  Bring along your jewelry, coats and scarves.

*GO PRO!   Make sure you get your hair and make-up professionally done!  You will feel great and in turn you will feel more confident!  See more reasons why you should go pro hair and make-up here!

*Crowns are always a good idea!  We love adding a feminine crown in maternity photos!  Fresh florals and greenery look best!

You can always bring an extra outfit too!  Like this gorgeous dress!  And we always love a big floppy hat too!

TIPS FOR THE HUBBY:

*As stated above, maternity gowns are meant to be more dressy and formal feeling!  So your hubby should match that vibe!  Bring out the coordinating suits and have fun with it!

*If he isn’t a suit kind of guy, collared shirts and dress pant will do just fine!   Skip the flip flops and shorts.  Dress pants and closed toe shoes really look best on camera!

TIPS FOR CHILDREN:

*If your child is going to be a part of your session as well, they should fit in with you both too!  Think about a dress for girls  or dress pants and possibly a cute bow tie for boys!  Even if it is going to be hot, please skip the short and sandals!  Longer pants and dress shoes really do look better on camera.  Unless of course you are going for a water location, than roll up those pants and let those cute little bare feet show!
